Chinese national detained on suspicion of holding wildlife product


Wildlife Rapid Rescue Team (WRRT) raided a carving factory suspected of holding illegal wildlife products in the capital of Phnom Penh

Wildlife Alliance Cambodia said a Chinese national was arrested and was put on pre-trial detention on suspicion of wildlife trade.


Last month Wildlife Alliance’s Wildlife Rapid Rescue Team (WRRT) raided a carving factory suspected of holding illegal wildlife products in the capital of Phnom Penh last month.

“The raid exposed the dark underbelly of Cambodia’s illegal wildlife trade

“The suspect was found with 6.58kg of ivory, 5.5kg of tiger bones, one tiger tooth, 1.3kg of pangolin scales, and 103 dead seahorses,” said Wildlife Alliance Cambodia on Facebook post on 16 April.
