Prak Sokhonn to attend special ASEAN-US foreign ministers’ meeting

Foreign  Affairs Minister Prak Sokhonn will attend a special ASEAN-US foreign ministers’ meeting on July 14 via video conference.

ASEAN foreign ministers and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken are expected to discuss practical approaches to strengthening ASEAN-US relations and cooperation and efforts to address the challenges posed by the Covid-19 outbreak, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement on July 12. 

They will also be able to consult on a number of regional and international issues of common concern, it said. 

“The meeting reflects the political will and commitment to further promote the ASEAN-US strategic partnership for long-term cooperation for peace, stability, security and socio-economic development,” said the statement.
